Marcia has some of the baskets made by Lizzie Proper. Lizzie, who died only 14 years ago, was one of the last bushwackers to make baskets. Some of her baskets are between 10-20 years old. Most of the Taghkanic Baskets were made at the Turn of the Century. It takes an expert like Marcia DeCillo to recognize the distinctive features of one of these oak and ash beauties. |
